.A standard design medium Training Support Center (TSC) at Fort Bliss, TX, the scope of this project included construction of a new Training Facility, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, parking lots, access drives, sidewalks, lighting, security fence, communication system, natural gas lines, water and landscaping.
The total project area of the new construction site included roughly 10 acres. VeMac constructed a sprinkled 84,480 s.f. air conditioned structure consisting of three major component buildings: a large, central, high bay Warehouse ( 49,929 s.f.), Administration Area (32,309 s.f.), and Vault Area (2,242 s.f.). Exterior finishes include symmetrical prefabricated metal panels on a CMU structural wall and stucco finish over insulated structural steel studs.
Several translucent panels were provided as openings with a cultured stone wainscoat located around the perimeter of the building. The roofing system consists of a Thermoplastic Olefin TPO membrane over cover board with roof drain leaders piped underground directly into the storm sewer system. Foundations are reinforced concrete spread and continuous footings with stem walls.
Site features include a 7 bay loading dock, concrete covered storage shed (2,400 s.f.), anti-terrorist entry gates, lighted parking, reinforced concrete paving service road, reinforced concrete paving tank trail, crushed stone , HMAC driveways and 50 space parking lot, rock walls and chain link fencing. LEED Silver certifiable. Additionally, a change order was issued for this contract which included the installation of the Training Facility Infrastructure Extension Electrical Design Package (PN 068662).
